Schengen visa<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Schengen area is composed of the following countries:<\/p>\n

Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Malta, Norway, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.<\/p>\n

A Schengen Visa is an authorization issued by one of the Member-States for the purpose of airport transit, transit or an intended short stay in a territory of one or more Member-States, allowing its holder to present him\/herself at the external frontier, but does not automatically guarantee his\/her respective entrance, which will be decided by the border authorities upon arrival.<\/p>\n

The Schengen visa is a short-stay visa<\/strong> for a maximum period of ninety (90) days during any hundred and eighty (180) days period and can be granted for tourism, family visit, business, seasonal work, transit, among others.<\/p>\n

A short-stay visa does not necessarily grant the holder the right to enter the Schengen area. At the border (or any control point) the visa holder may have to display the visa or provide additional documentation, including proofing financial means for the duration of the stay and for the return trip.<\/p>\n

Who needs a visa?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Where you should lodge a visa application?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

According to your nationality and\/or country of residency, if your country of residency is different from that of your nationality, refer to the Portuguese consular post below where to lodge a Schengen visa: https:\/\/vistos.mne.gov.pt\/en\/short-stay-visas-schengen\/general-information\/where-should-you-lodge-a-visa-application<\/a><\/p>\n

Deadline for filing application<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Application forms<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Each applicant shall submit a complete and signed application form individually. Minors shall submit an application form signed by the person exercising permanent or temporary parental authority or legal guardianship.<\/p>\n

Family members of EU citizens and Swiss citizens (spouse, dependent descendant or ascendant) should not fill in the fields with an asterisk (*) when exercising their right to freedom of movement.<\/p>\n

Visa fees<\/strong><\/h3>\n

For each visa a fee is to be paid for the analysis of the application. The payment of the fee does not imply granting of the visa, nor does it entail refund in case of refusal.<\/p>\n

The request is considered admissible following the payment of the required visa.<\/p>\n

General fee is 80 Euros<\/p>\n

Reduced fee is 40 Euros<\/p>\n
