Travel information

Porto is a modern European city served by an international airport, railways and a public transportation system that includes both bus services and subway lines.

Airport Transfer

If travelling by plane, there are several ways to get to the city centre (hotel or ISEP) (https://www.portoairport.pt/en/opo/access-parking/getting-to-and-from-the-airport/public-transportation). See links below for additional or updated info.

Metro

The easiest way to get from Porto Airport to the city center is to take the metro. Line E (Violet) connects Airport Station to “Trindade” Station, and, to all metro’s network. The access to the Station from the interior of the Airport is extremely simple and practical, being fully signaled.

The occasional Andante title required for travelling between the Airport Station and Oporto city centre is a Z4. In the Andante shop located in the arrivals zone of the Airport you can also buy the Andante Tour, an unlimited and intermodal title valid for 1 or 3 days. The journey to the city centre takes about 30 minutes and a single fare is 2.20 €.

Bus

There are regular bus connections to the city centre (buses 601, 602, 604 and 3M serve the airport). A single fare is also 2.20 € (Buses and Metro share the Andante system).

Taxi

Taxis are available 24 hours a day from outside Arrivals. A 20% surcharge is payable at weekends, on public holidays and between 21:00 and 06:00. Taxi service to the Porto centre should cost about 25~30 € and take between 20 and 30 minutes. Large size baggage may incur additional cost (about 3 €).

Shuttle

There is a low cost shuttle service between the airport and the Porto hotels. You must book in advance in 100RUMOS (https://100rumos.com), the cost is 6 € per person.

TVDE

If you’re looking for a more comfortable and personalised way to get to Porto Airport, you might want to consider booking a private UBER or Bolt. TVDE companies offer a range of vehicles, from normal cars to cars with more space for carrying suitcases, and can pick you up from your hotel or anywhere else in the city.

The cost varies depending on the type of vehicle and the distance traveled, but you can expect to pay between 10 € and 20 €.

In short, there are several ways to get to Porto Airport, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.

If you’re looking for convenience, your own car or a TVDE service may be your best option. Otherwise, the metro or bus may be a more affordable choice, depending on the time you have available.

Whichever option you choose, don’t forget to plan and allow plenty of time to get to the airport, especially during peak travelling periods.
