Normative test methods for personal care robots

As the global robot community focuses on developing the needed technologies for realising the new service robots, the robot safety community is developing the new safety requirements and how these should be tested by certification bodies throughout the world. CLAWAR is providing the leadership for much of this work and we would like to see how further activities can be facilitated to advance the area of robotics for the public benefit.

We have started to work with Wearable Robotics Association, USA and invite everyone to an open discussion on how safety and normative testing can be achieved by international collaboration.

We have produced an open letter and invite comments and inputs on what we can do individually, regionally, nationally and internationally to move things forward.
